Located atop the Breeze Song Gao shopping mall, Humble House Taipei boasts an incredibly convenient location. It's just steps away from the Taipei City Hall MRT station. Walk downstairs, and you're instantly greeted by the famous Bellavita luxury mall, the bustling Xinyi shopping district, and Taipei 101! With an outdoor pool offering a breathtaking view of the Xinyi district skyline and incredibly comfortable rooms, if you're looking for the perfect staycation in Taipei, you definitely shouldn't miss Humble House Taipei!

The My Humble House Group operates four hotels: Sheraton Grand Taipei Hotel, Le Méridien Taipei, Humble House Taipei, and Mu Jiao Xi Hotel. Two of these are concentrated right here in the Xinyi District. Because of our hotel loyalty statuses, we've rarely strayed outside the Marriott and Hilton brands. This time, however, a twist of fate led us to skip the Marriott-affiliated Le Méridien Taipei and check into the locally grown Taiwanese brand: Humble House Taipei.

Location & Transport

Situated atop Breeze Song Gao, Humble House Taipei is a mere 300 meters from Exit 3 of the Taipei City Hall MRT station. It's truly in the dead center of the Xinyi shopping district, making transport an absolute breeze. Major tourist spots like Taipei 101, Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall, and Songshan Cultural and Creative Park are all within an easy walk!

Hotel Lobby

The founder of My Humble House Group is a well-known art and antique collector, so you'll naturally find quite a few stunning art pieces inside the hotel. Take, for example, the installation art "Bourrasque" (Gust of Wind). Made of various-sized electroluminescent sheets, it hangs in the high-ceilinged first-floor welcome lobby. Doesn't it really look like a strong gust has blown sheets of paper into the air, leaving them dancing in the wind?

Photo from Humble House official website

Taking the elevator from the welcome lobby brings you to the main reception desk on the sixth floor. Natural light pours in through large floor-to-ceiling windows on both sides, while green hedge-like bushes outside add a refreshing, natural vibe. The hotel staff was incredibly friendly. We even ran into a fellow hometown local and ended up chatting away like old friends!

Room Tour - Pure Deluxe King Room

Unlike staying at Marriott or Hilton properties where our loyalty status makes us secretly hope for a lucky room upgrade, we had absolutely zero status for our stay at Humble House. In fact, it was our very first time staying at a My Humble House Group property! So, you can imagine our surprise when we walked into our room, saw Taipei 101 standing tall right outside our window, and realized we had been upgraded to a "Pure Deluxe King Room with Taipei 101 View." We were so incredibly flattered!

Room types introduction on the in-room TV

Flipping through the hotel introduction on the TV, you can see that among the different room types offered, some feature city views. If you specifically want a room with a view of Taipei 101, you should book one of the following room types:

  • Grand Deluxe Room King/Twin
  • Grand Premier Room King/Twin
  • Tower Suite
  • Prestige Suite
  • Humble House Residence

Pure Room Certification

We aren't sure if the hotel mistakenly thought we were already bringing a baby with us and purposely arranged a purified "Pure Room" to provide a more comfortable space for a little one? Little did they know, the baby was still safely tucked away in Cherry's tummy! XDDDDD

These rooms undergo a special, professional cleaning and sanitization process to eliminate bacteria and dust mites, providing guests with a highly certified hypoallergenic environment. Not only is there an air purifier running, but the mattress and pillowcases used are also dust-mite-proof.

These multi-award-winning and certified Pure Rooms are concentrated on the 18th and 19th floors.

Not only that, the towel swans folded by the Humble House housekeeping team were the most beautiful ones we've ever seen! Not only were the swan heads folded into perfect heart shapes, but the tails had gorgeous, intricate pleats, and they thoughtfully included a handmade card. Even though they might not have fully grasped the concept of a "Babymoon" (our pre-baby honeymoon!), Cherry was absolutely thrilled to see the handmade baby cow card. She carefully brought it home as a keepsake!

The room generally features earthy tones and is about 26 square meters (8 ping). While not huge, the overall storage and spatial layout are planned exceptionally well.

By the window, there's a large, practical desk facing the beautiful scenery outside. Working here feels like you could get twice as much done! Next to the desk is a custom bright orange mini sofa. It's a classic case of "small but perfectly formed"—it has absolutely everything you need!

The power outlets, USB ports, ethernet port, and audio jacks are all cleverly hidden at the end of the desk. You can close the lid while your phone is charging inside, keeping the desktop totally free of messy cables. We really love this smart design!

The view of Taipei 101 outside the window has a completely different vibe in the morning, noon, and night. We just couldn't get enough of it! (Spoken like true out-of-town tourists, haha!)

You can also look down and watch the bustling crowds and busy traffic of the Xinyi shopping district below.

The bathroom isn't large, but the sense of space and storage are designed very well. There's a glass partition slightly separating the sink from the washlet (bidet) toilet. The bathroom counter is on the smaller side, but there's a recessed storage niche on the right and a wooden drawer for amenities. Cherry felt the compact counter didn't cause any inconvenience at all.

Cherry really loves these built-in wall niches—they're both stylish and practical. Humble House Taipei provides shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner in pump bottles mounted directly on the shower wall, so only the moisturizing lotion comes in a small, single-use bottle. Pull open the drawer, and the amenities are neatly arranged and easy to see at a glance.

The hairdryer provided is by Philips.

The shower stall also has a built-in shelf—very handy! On the floor, there was a baby bathtub and a small stool. This was a beautiful misunderstanding from when we mentioned during booking that we were here for a Babymoon. Seeing the word "Baby," they had all the baby necessities perfectly prepared. It was incredibly sweet! It was Cherry's first time ever seeing baby gear in a hotel room, and she found it absolutely fascinating!

In this already compact bathroom space, besides the shower stall, there is surprisingly a square bathtub! Glass separates the bathroom from the bedroom. When you need privacy, you can manually slide the wooden door closed from the outside; if you don't close it, you can happily soak in the tub while watching TV!

The Mini Bar features a Nespresso coffee machine, an electric kettle, and—yet another beautiful misunderstanding—a baby bottle sterilizer! There's also a whole row of bottled water; it was the first time we'd seen so much bottled water provided in a guest room!

The Mini Bar also has a small fridge, and the complimentary tea bags are Pi Lo Chun (green tea) and Genmaicha (brown rice tea).

Inside the closet by the entrance, you'll find indoor slippers, an iron, an ironing board, a luggage rack, a safe, and more. The bathrobes at Humble House Taipei are made of quite a unique material. Instead of the usual terry cloth found in most hotels, the outside feels smooth, somewhat like a silky material. They are incredibly comfortable to wear!

The lights in the room can all be controlled separately, and the switches are all consolidated onto one control panel. It's clear at a glance and super convenient to use.

The room uses a Sealy bed, along with a down duvet and down pillows. It was very comfortable to sleep on, allowing Cherry, who was deep in her second trimester of pregnancy, to sleep soundly through the night—which is no easy feat!

La Farfalla Italian Restaurant Breakfast Buffet

Breakfast at Humble House Taipei is served at the La Farfalla Italian Restaurant on the sixth floor, available from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM.

The spherical lighting fixture at the restaurant entrance—"Crazy Ball"—is super eye-catching! It was Cherry's favorite art piece in the entire hotel. Italian artist Paola Pivi combined classic miniature chair models with lighting to create this piece. From afar, it's incredibly colorful, and up close, the details are amazingly intricate.

Inside La Farfalla Italian Restaurant, there are rows of transparent floor-to-ceiling windows on both the left and right sides. On one side, the outdoor sky garden is lush and green; on the other, the high-rises of the Xinyi District stand tall. The different views on either side create a refreshing and relaxing dining environment amidst the city's hustle and bustle, perfectly embodying the design concept of a "Garden in the City."

Compared to typical Taiwanese hotel breakfasts, Humble House offers fewer Taiwanese-style options—just congee and some steamed buns. It was also the only hotel we stayed at during our Taipei Babymoon that didn't offer hot, unsweetened soy milk. (Cherry is extremely dependent on unsweetened soy milk! 😂)

On the other hand, there were far more Western-style options; the breakfast is definitely Western-leaning. They serve savory quiche, which is rare for a hotel breakfast, and it was actually quite delicious. Highly recommended!

As for made-to-order dishes, there are various egg preparations: scrambled eggs, fried eggs, poached eggs, boiled eggs, omelets, etc., all cooked fresh to order!

The omelet was quite unique—it felt more like a thin egg crepe wrapped around the fillings!

The pancakes were also freshly made and quite tasty.

But Cherry's absolute favorite feature was the made-to-order beverage bar! In many hotel breakfasts, coffee and tea are self-serve, but at Humble House, there is dedicated staff to make it fresh for you.

You can order various teas and coffees on the spot, and there are pregnancy-friendly decaf options! We asked just to give it a try, and to our surprise, they could make decaf coffee! And not just an Americano—they could whip up decaf lattes, cappuccinos, and more.

While decaf coffee is practically a staple in every North American hotel, it's really not available at every hotel in Taiwan. This simple decaf latte perfectly kicked off a beautiful morning for our coffee-loving Cherry.

Aside from the hot food being mostly Western, the cold cuts were heavily Western-influenced as well. There was an overflowing platter of smoked salmon!

Cheese and ham!

The pastries and breads were all quite delicious!

The salads were also very fresh.

There was a pretty great variety of fruit!

Although the overall breakfast selection isn't massive, Humble House Taipei focuses on a refined and delicious Western-style breakfast. The dining environment perfectly captures that leisurely, peaceful vibe right in the middle of the city. Having eaten at several hotel buffets in a row during our Babymoon, the Humble House breakfast was definitely one of the more memorable ones. If we have the chance to stay here again, we'll definitely add on breakfast!

Hotel Facilities

Humble House Taipei doesn't have a ton of facilities, featuring just an outdoor pool, a gym, and a SPA. However, the absolute highlight has to be the outdoor pool with its direct view of Taipei 101! Located on the 7th floor, the pool is open daily from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM. It's important to note that the pool is closed during the winter months (December to April) and sometimes temporarily closes due to other conditions, so it's best to check before booking.

Photo from Humble House official website

While the pool at the W Hotel, also located in the Xinyi District, is beautiful, due to its orientation, W Hotel's pool does not offer a view of Taipei 101. Swimming while gazing at the city skyline of the Xinyi District is such a special treat! Because of the timing of our trip, we sadly missed out on this outdoor pool, which is a massive bonus for Humble House. We really hope to visit again when the pool is open!

The gym, located on the eighth floor of the hotel, is open from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

The gym isn't large, and there is mostly just one of each type of equipment, but when we went, there was absolutely no one else using it!

Besides the outdoor pool, the 7th floor also houses a SPA center, which you can check out if you're in need of some pampering.

The high-definition LCD TV in the room also offers the option to connect with the Google Home App on Android phones. This allows you to cast music and videos from your phone, giving the TV lots of extra playback capabilities.

Humble House Taipei is right in the heart of Taipei's Xinyi District. Although the rooms aren't incredibly large, the spatial design isn't overly flashy, and the color scheme is fairly standard, the way they maximize space and storage is truly impressive! Making excellent use of a 26-square-meter space in the wildly expensive Xinyi District, it has every single amenity you could need—a brilliant example of "small but mighty" room design. Pair that with super convenient transport, the incredibly friendly service from our receptionist, Ya-Fan Chen, and the stunning city views outside the window, and it certainly left a wonderful impression on us!

La Farfalla Italian Restaurant Breakfast Buffet

Breakfast at Humble House Taipei is served at the La Farfalla Italian Restaurant on the sixth floor from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM.

The spherical lighting fixture at the restaurant entrance—"Crazy Ball"—is super eye-catching! It’s Cherry’s absolute favorite art piece in the whole hotel. Italian artist Paola Pivi combined miniature classic chair models with lighting to create this fixture. From afar, it's incredibly colorful, and up close, the details are so intricate it's simply amazing~

The interior of La Farfalla Italian Restaurant features rows of floor-to-ceiling windows on both the left and right sides. Out one window, you see the lush green sky garden, while the other side showcases the towering skyscrapers of Xinyi District. These contrasting views create a refreshing and relaxing dining environment right in the middle of the bustling city, perfectly capturing their "garden in the city" design concept.

For a Taiwanese hotel breakfast, Humble House's Taiwanese-style options are relatively limited, offering only congee, steamed buns (mantou), and stuffed buns (baozi). It was also the only hotel during our Taipei Babymoon stays that didn't provide hot unsweetened soy milk~ (Cherry relies heavily on unsweetened soy milk 😂)

The Western-style options, however, are much more plentiful. You could say the breakfast is primarily Western-focused. They serve savory quiche, which is quite rare for hotel breakfasts, and it was actually really delicious—highly recommended!

As for the made-to-order dishes, there are various egg options: scrambled eggs, fried eggs, poached eggs, boiled eggs, omelets, etc., all freshly prepared upon request~

The omelet was quite unique—it felt more like a thin egg wrapper folded around the fillings~

The waffles are also made-to-order and taste quite good~

But what really won Cherry's heart was the made-to-order beverage bar! At many hotel breakfasts, coffee and tea are self-serve, but at Humble House, there is a dedicated barista making them fresh for you.

You can order various types of tea and coffee, and they also have pregnancy-friendly, caffeine-free options. I asked just to see, and to my surprise, they could make decaf coffee! And not just Americanos—they can make it into a latte, cappuccino, and more~

Decaf coffee is practically a staple in every North American hotel, but in Taiwan, it's really not something every hotel offers~ This simple cup of decaf latte perfectly kicked off a beautiful morning for the coffee-craving Cherry.

Aside from the hot food being mostly Western, the cold dishes are also predominantly Western-style. There's smoked salmon piled so high it looks like it's overflowing.

Cheese and ham~

The pastries and bread all taste quite nice!

The salads are all very fresh too.

There's a pretty good variety of fruit~

Although the overall breakfast selection isn't massive, Humble House Taipei focuses on a high-quality, Western-style breakfast that is refined and delicious. The dining environment perfectly delivers a sense of leisurely tranquility in the city. Out of all the hotel breakfasts we had during our Babymoon, Humble House definitely stands out as one of the most memorable. If we have the chance to stay again, we'd probably still opt to add on the breakfast!

Hotel Facilities

Humble House Taipei doesn't have an overwhelming amount of facilities, but it does feature an outdoor pool, a gym, and a SPA center. The absolute standout is, without a doubt, the outdoor pool with its views of Taipei 101~ Located on the 7th floor, the pool is open daily from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Note that the pool is closed during the winter (December to April) and may also close temporarily due to other circumstances, so it's best to confirm before booking.

Photo from Humble House Taipei official website

While the pool at the W Hotel, also located in the Xinyi District, is stunning, its orientation means you can't see Taipei 101 from the W Hotel pool. Swimming while gazing out at the city skyline of Xinyi District is such a special treat! Because of the timing of our trip, we unfortunately missed out on this outdoor pool—a feature that really earns Humble House major bonus points. We hope to return and experience it when the pool is open next time!

The gym, located on the eighth floor of the hotel, is open from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

The gym isn't large, and there's mostly just one of each machine, but when we went, there was absolutely no one else using it~

Besides the outdoor pool, the 7th floor also houses a SPA center. If you're in need of some pampering, definitely check it out~

The high-definition LCD TV in the room also offers the option to connect to the Google Home App on Android phones. This allows you to cast music and videos straight from your phone, giving the TV a lot more playback versatility.

Situated right in the heart of Taipei's Xinyi District, Humble House Taipei may not have the largest rooms, and the design isn't particularly flashy—the color palette is quite standard—but its clever use of space and smart storage design left a lasting impression on us~ Making the absolute most of its 8 ping (26 sqm) in the incredibly expensive Xinyi District, it packs in every amenity you could possibly need. It's a textbook example of a room that's "small but perfectly formed." Combine that with the convenient transport, the incredibly friendly service from desk agent Ya-Fan Chen, and the stunning city views right outside the window, and it truly left us with a wonderful impression~
