Location & Transportation

Situated right next to the Zhongzhang Expressway, Fairfield by Marriott Taichung is located in Xitun District, one of the city's most vibrant areas. Nearby attractions include Maple Garden, the National Taichung Theater, Luce Memorial Chapel, and the Intercontinental Baseball Stadium. Best of all, Fengjia Night Market—a famous street food mecca notoriously difficult for parking—is within walking distance! For business travelers, the Taichung Industrial Park and Central Taiwan Science Park are just a short drive away. If you're arriving in Taichung by bus, both the Chaoma and Zhonggang transfer stations are conveniently close. While it’s not situated right above a bustling shopping street, its connectivity is unbeatable, especially if you plan to rent a car or rent a scooter to explore the city. It really is an excellent choice for both business and leisure!
Lobby

Having opened its doors on December 11, 2018, Fairfield by Marriott Taichung features a high-ceilinged lobby with trendy, modern decor. Looking up, we were greeted by a stunning array of transparent, teal, and silver circular pendant lights covering the ceiling—shining with a warm glow like a starry night sky. It adds so much character and design flair! Although the lobby isn't massive, it strikes a perfect balance between minimalist and elegant.

The hotel's elevators pair sleek black finishes with warm natural wood tones. The geometric patterns on the hallway carpets playfully echo the ceiling design, complete with illuminated room number signs. This chic, contemporary style had us so excited to see what the rooms looked like inside!

Room Tour
The room’s interior continues the hotel's distinct design theme: warm-toned walls, light wood furniture, and even wood-grain floor tiles. The window frames, pendant lights, sockets, and various hardware are uniformly black, adding a sophisticated, modern contrast to the earthy color palette. For a business hotel, creating such a cozy, home-like atmosphere is a huge plus in our book.

They've truly succeeded in creating a comfortable and inviting vibe!

We've heard that Fairfield by Marriott Taichung uses premium Simmons mattresses, and it certainly felt like it!

The room features large floor-to-ceiling windows. Our specific room happened to face Taichung’s Dadu Mountain, and the sweeping views were incredibly refreshing and relaxing.
The bathroom design follows a popular contemporary trend: sliding frosted glass doors. When left open, they enhance the room’s visual spaciousness; when closed, they provide full privacy. This semi-open concept really makes the room feel much larger.

We stayed in a slightly smaller room type, so our bathroom only had a shower and no bathtub.

If you prefer a soak, you can check out the room types with bathtubs on the Fairfield official website.

The bathroom counter offered plenty of usable space. Besides the toothbrushes, the hotel’s amenities—shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, etc.—are provided in refillable dispensers rather than single-use travel bottles. We love this eco-friendly touch!

Additionally, the room makes highly efficient use of space. The platform beneath the TV can easily fit two large suitcases—super practical! The adjacent wardrobe isn't huge, but it's completely functional and has everything you need.

Tea-making facilities, a safe, a mini-fridge, an iron, and an ironing board—it really has all the essentials covered.

The tea station is compact but fully stocked with a kettle, mugs, tea bags, and coffee.

When we saw the coffee and tea selection, Cherry almost screamed out loud! Snoopy! Yes, the in-room drip coffee is from Charlie Brown Cafe, and the tea bags are by Twinings. As a long-time fan of Twinings tea and a childhood Snoopy lover, Cherry couldn't have been happier. The hotel's choices hit all the right notes for her!

Buffet Breakfast
The buffet breakfast is served at the Fairfield Restaurant on the first floor. Even before checking in, we had heard rumors about how delicious the breakfast was here, so our expectations were incredibly high!

After eating there for two mornings, Cherry's absolute favorite part was definitely the hot Chinese food section.

Every dish looked, smelled, and tasted fantastic. Just thinking about it now makes us hungry! 😆

In terms of variety, there were both Chinese and Western hot dishes, alongside made-to-order omelets and noodle soups.

The cold station offered fresh salads, cheeses, and fruits.

And of course, there was a great selection of pastries, breads, tea, and coffee. Twinings made another welcome appearance!

While the sheer number of options is standard for a hotel breakfast—not overwhelmingly huge—the taste completely outshines Fairfield properties we've visited abroad. You can truly taste the chef’s dedication in almost every dish. It's a breakfast worth waking up for!

Other Facilities
Being geared slightly more toward business travelers, Fairfield Taichung doesn't have a swimming pool, but it does feature a fitness center on the 3rd floor.

Besides the exercise equipment, they provide complimentary towels and bottled water.

On the 1st floor, The Fairfield Market sells simple snacks, drinks, and souvenirs. The most touching discovery? A vending machine selling instant noodles and classic Taiwanese Prince Noodles (科學麵)! If we ever saw these sold in a hotel abroad, we might just shed a tear of joy! 😆

For gifts, they offer Charlie Brown coffee gift boxes, as well as branded Fairfield mugs and thermoses.

Anniversary Birthday Party Happy Hour
When we stayed in November 2019, Fairfield Taichung left such a deeply positive impression on us. The following month, an American friend was visiting Taichung, so we highly recommended she stay here. By pure coincidence, we were honored to be invited to the hotel's 1st Anniversary Happy Hour party! We left our signatures on the large entrance backdrop and even took a commemorative photo with the General Manager. What a privilege!

We mentioned earlier how delicious the breakfast at the Fairfield Restaurant was, so it goes without saying that the party spread was absolutely exquisite! Both the savory dishes and the desserts were refined and incredibly tasty.

What left the deepest impression was the crab bisque—it was so generously packed with crab meat it practically overflowed!

There was also free-flowing wine and drinks~

The anniversary cake was a massive "1", surrounded by adorable mini cakes decorated with 'Fairfield', 'Bonvoy', and '1' for guests to grab. Super cute!

This was actually Cherry's first time attending a hotel's anniversary party. The exquisite food, the creative cakes, and the lively atmosphere left us with such beautiful memories!

If you ever have the chance to visit Taichung—whether for business or leisure—we highly recommend Fairfield by Marriott Taichung. With its prime location, stylish design, and incredible dedication to food and service, it’s a phenomenal choice!
For those who have Marriott Bonvoy status or are planning to join, we strongly suggest booking Fairfield Taichung directly through Marriott's official website. This ensures you’ll receive all your member benefits and points. If you book through third-party platforms, there's a high chance you won't be able to enjoy your elite perks during your stay!
