Lobby
The lobby of Courtyard Taipei is located on the 7th floor. As soon as the elevator doors open, you're immediately drawn to the incredibly spacious, high-ceilinged area. The biggest eye-catcher is undoubtedly "Bubble Man"—measuring 3.5 meters long and 2.5 meters wide, he looks like a slimmed-down Michelin Man!

Bubble Man's creator, artist Wu Tung-Hsun, was inspired after watching children blow soap bubbles. Seeing how the bubbles connected in the air to form different shapes sparked the idea to create this stainless steel Bubble Man, combining the concept of bubbles with the beauty of the human body!

Not only does his side profile show off a dynamic, streamlined shape, but Bubble Man's front face is also incredibly cute! Besides looking like a successful weight-loss version of the Michelin Man, Cherry couldn't help but associate him with the famous Glico Running Man in Osaka! Doesn't he look a bit similar? 😆😆😆

The lobby floor and walls are paved with grand marble. The moment we walked in, we were blown away by the luxurious and imposing atmosphere!

For Cherry, who has stayed at quite a few Courtyard by Marriott properties in North America, it was hard to believe this stunning, ultra-high-ceilinged luxury lobby belonged to a Courtyard!
Booking & Using Suite Night Awards
Courtyard Taipei has 465 guest rooms spanning from the 11th to the 30th floor, including 96 rooms on the executive floors. Since we were traveling with an elder on this trip, we figured it would be much better if we could upgrade to a larger room. So, when booking through the official website, we applied our "Suite Night Awards" earned from the Marriott Bonvoy Annual Choice Benefits. When using an upgrade award, you can select your preferred room types. In the case of Courtyard Taipei, you can choose from three upgrade options:
Marriott Bonvoy Annual Choice Benefits: When you reach 50 or 75 qualifying elite nights in a year at Marriott properties, you can choose certain perks. The "Suite Night Award" is one of these options.

We selected the largest suite available for upgrade (excluding the Presidential Suite): the Deluxe Suite.
When is the best time to use a Suite Night Award? When staying at Marriott properties with high-tier elite status, you always have a chance for a complimentary room upgrade at check-in, but this heavily depends on the "day-of, moment-of" room availability. While hotels try their best to accommodate members, there's no guarantee, and it often comes down to luck. However, if you apply a Suite Night Award, the hotel will start looking for upgrade availability five days before your arrival, allowing you to confirm your upgrade in advance. This is great for guests who really want to secure a premium room and increase their chances!

Room Tour: Deluxe Suite
Compared to our overall hotel experiences in Taipei, the space in this Deluxe Suite is incredibly generous. Not only does it have an independent living room area, but it also features a dedicated workspace with massive floor-to-ceiling windows offering fantastic natural light.

The walls of the small living room are adorned with animal paintings, cleverly integrating a touch of local Taiwanese characteristics.

The description next to the Formosan Black Bear painting was particularly thought-provoking~

The desk has clean, modern lines, and the workspace is quite large by standard hotel desk measures~

The view outside the floor-to-ceiling windows behind the desk, paired with blue skies and white clouds, is simply gorgeous!

A lovely welcome gift awaited us on the living room coffee table.

Besides fresh fruit, there were also little treats from Elite Bakery, which is also part of the Leofoo Tourism Group.

The bed was beautifully decorated with petals—a thoughtful touch by the hotel. There’s also a cozy seating area with two chairs right next to the bed~

On the other side of the bed is a vanity desk. Because Cherry's mom was staying with us this time, we requested an extra rollaway bed. However, Cherry's mom absolutely refused to sleep in the same room as us, and sneakily pushed her small bed out into the living room! Luckily, the Deluxe Suite's living room is so massive that it easily fits a single bed!

The biggest surprise was the bathroom space! It is easily one of the most spacious bathrooms Cherry has ever seen in a Taipei hotel! It features a double sink design, a separate wet/dry walk-in shower, and a lovely soaking tub~

On the other side, they cleverly used glass doors to partition the toilet. Frosted glass blocks what needs to be hidden, while the clear glass allows visual penetration, adding a great sense of perspective to the space~

The amenities are neatly placed inside a wooden box engraved with the Courtyard logo, giving the whole setup a wonderfully premium feel.

The hairdryer also comes in its own dedicated wooden box, thoughtfully labeled with a little hairdryer icon!

The Mini Bar includes a coffee machine, a kettle, and all the essentials for making tea and coffee. The mini-fridge was stocked with a bottle of Oolong tea, Pepsi, and Taiwan Beer!

Inside the closet, you'll find everything you need: bathrobes, slippers, an iron, an ironing board, and a safe. What was uniquely thoughtful is that they even provided a standing fan!

Executive Lounge
Marriott Bonvoy Platinum members and above can access the Executive Lounge during their stay.

Located on the 30th floor, the Executive Lounge is very spacious and comfortable with plenty of seating.

The Executive Lounge is open from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Happy Hour runs from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM (Please note that since April 1, 2021, Happy Hour times may be adjusted based on operational conditions).

Light snacks are available all day. Unfortunately, our dining schedule was completely packed during our stay, so we didn't get to experience the Happy Hour this time.

The large windows in the Executive Lounge not only provide tons of natural light but also offer expansive, relaxing views of the surroundings.

There is a large outdoor balcony right outside the lounge where you can space out and unwind.

You can also catch a distant view of Taipei 101 while you're out there!
Buffet Breakfast @ Sunrise All Day Dining

The buffet breakfast at Courtyard Taipei is served at the Sunrise All Day Dining restaurant on the 7th floor. The restaurant features a bright, well-lit dining environment, accented with lively pops of bright green. True to its name "Sunrise", it feels full of vibrant morning energy! It certainly brightened up Cherry's mood first thing in the morning!

The breakfast selection is remarkably diverse for a hotel.

The biggest surprise? We actually spotted "water caltrop" (water chestnut) in the salad section! This is a food that had been buried deep in our childhood memories! Small street vendors from our youth with hot steamers full of smoking water caltrops, the aroma filling the air—it’s absolutely an item packed with childhood nostalgia! 💓💓💓

The various Chinese dishes displayed in bamboo steamers not only stay warm but also add a wonderful retro, nostalgic flavor to the meal!

There are quite a few made-to-order dishes for breakfast at the Courtyard Taipei, including the essential hotel breakfast staple: the made-to-order omelet!

Waffles are also made to order~
Overall, the breakfast at Courtyard Taipei is incredibly diverse. Whether you prefer cold dishes or hot food, there are plenty of choices from various cuisines. With so many freshly made items, even Cherry's mom, who is vegetarian, had a fantastic and satisfying feast!

Fitness Center

While Courtyard Taipei does not have a swimming pool, there is a fitness center on the 11th floor~

The fitness center is fully equipped with treadmills, walking pads, spin bikes, dumbbells, and weight training equipment.

The best part? Working out while gazing out the window at the endless, lush green mountain view is incredibly healing for both the body and mind!
Lobby Lounge Afternoon Tea

We originally checked into the Courtyard Taipei to visit relatives, so our dining schedule was completely packed. We hadn't planned any time to eat at the hotel's restaurants (except for breakfast). But as fate would have it, while we were checking in, the hotel was running a lucky draw event. I have to say, Cherry's luck was through the roof! With one spin, we won 👉🏻 a Lobby Lounge Afternoon Tea set worth $999 + 10% service charge!

The afternoon tea is served at one side of the lobby, which also houses the bar. If you look closely, you'll notice cat decorations everywhere—we heard it's because the owner's daughter loves cats!

The afternoon tea consisted of colorful Spanish tapas and French desserts. Since it was close to Christmas, everything was beautifully styled with a festive theme!

The birdcage afternoon tea featured both sweet and savory items, so you don't feel overwhelmed by sweetness. Everything tasted great, and with the adorable presentation, we highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a luxurious afternoon tea experience!
To sum up, Courtyard by Marriott Taipei is incredibly perfect for anyone who just wants to lounge around the hotel or easily grab food and drinks nearby. The adjacent mall creates a self-sufficient daily living circle—endless shopping, non-stop delicious food, a movie theater, and even a bookstore (there's a Tsutaya Bookstore downstairs!).

Being just steps away from all major public transport, it’s not only great for business travelers but also fantastic for vacationers who hate dragging luggage over long distances. It also serves as an excellent transit hub and rest point when planning your itinerary. No matter your next destination—whether you're heading north, traveling south, or just going out into downtown Taipei—it is a thoroughly ideal place to stay!
Tip: For friends who have Marriott Bonvoy status or plan to join, we highly recommend booking the Courtyard Taipei directly through the official Marriott website. This guarantees you'll enjoy your elite perks and earn points. If you book through third-party websites, there's a high chance you won't be able to enjoy your membership benefits during your stay!
