Even though it's just one MRT stop away from the famous Xinbeitou hot spring area, the room rates here are so much more budget-friendly than many of the traditional hot spring resorts! Plus, the Aloft brand is known for its bold colors and trendy design. As a Marriott International brand often referred to as a "mini W Hotel," it's a highly recommended accommodation choice when you're visiting Taipei!

♨️ Location & Transport

Nestled right between Beitou and Qiyan MRT stations, Aloft Beitou is just an 8-minute walk from Beitou Station and a 6-minute walk from Qiyan. By hopping on the MRT for just one stop to Xinbeitou, you can easily embark on a relaxing day trip to the hot spring town! Famous spots like the century-old Xinbeitou Historic Station, Taipei Public Library Beitou Branch, Beitou Hot Spring Museum, and Thermal Valley are all within comfortable walking distance.

Beyond that, the Tamsui-Xinyi MRT line grants you easy access to the bustling Shilin Night Market, scenic Tamsui, as well as renowned attractions like Yangmingshan National Park and the National Palace Museum. The area right around the hotel is incredibly peaceful. If you book a room with a view, you can even overlook the expansive Guandu Plain! We honestly didn't expect to find such a relaxing, nature-adjacent hotel right in Taipei—the vacation vibe is absolutely a 100/100 💯! We highly recommend it; it's the perfect hotel for a weekend getaway!

♨️ Lobby

Stepping into the Aloft Beitou, the first thing that catches your eye is a massive, Rubik's Cube-like installation. Its vibrant, neon colors shift constantly, giving the whole lobby a lively and energetic vibe!

The brand's logo is also displayed in a very unique way, stacked up with glowing square blocks spelling out "Aloft".

The W XYZ Bar next to the lobby uses bold splashes of blue, red, and yellow to create a super fun and relaxed atmosphere.

If you get a sudden craving for snacks, drinks, or instant noodles, you can grab them right at the Re:fuel by Aloft grab-and-go pantry next to the bar on the first floor. It completely saves you the hassle of running out to a convenience store!

Making our way to the guest rooms, we loved the light wood-toned walls paired with dark gray carpets, boldly accented with bright red. It feels incredibly modern and is definitely one of the more memorable and stylish hotel corridors we've walked through!

♨️ Room Tour

The interior of the guest room seamlessly carries on the hotel's signature style. It cleverly uses bright, colorful paintings, throw pillows, and curtains to inject a ton of vibrant energy into the space.

The massive King-size bed makes you want to dive right in and drift off to dreamland!

The bright square patterns on the curtains and carpet immediately reminded us of the cube installation down in the lobby. The designers really did a fantastic job effortlessly weaving the hotel's core theme into all these little details.

There's a 43-inch LCD TV right in front of the bed. Lounging half-asleep in bed while watching TV is seriously one of the best things about staying in a hotel! 😆

Pulling back the curtains, the square, black-framed window looks just like a picture frame embedded in the wall, framing the stunning view of the Guandu Plain outside like an ultra-realistic landscape painting.

The view outside is truly breathtaking. As someone who isn't a Taipei local, Cherry honestly would have thought this was the lush countryside of Eastern Taiwan if she didn't know better! We couldn't believe Taipei still has such a vast, natural landscape right in the city. Gazing at this natural painting instantly ignited our vacation mood!

The room comes equipped with a mini-fridge and a dedicated space to place your luggage out of the way.

They also provide tea and coffee-making facilities, complete with handy to-go cups and two complimentary bottles of water.

Inside the closet, you'll find an iron and an ironing board.

Stuck to the mirror were two eye-catching, bright sticky notes! One was a voucher for a free dessert with a main course at the Nook restaurant on the 3rd floor, and the other was a "buy one, get the second free" drink voucher for the W XYZ Bar on the 1st floor. The text on the sticky notes looked like it was stamped on. Using sticky notes as a direct, creative little ad is so effortless yet clever—totally killing two birds with one stone!

Now for the room's bathroom~

All the provided toiletries are Aloft's signature in-house brand.

The hair dryer is by Philips. Compared to those flimsy wall-mounted ones you often see in hotels, this type is so much better and dries your hair super fast! 👍🏻

The bathroom features a glass-enclosed walk-in shower, separating the wet and dry areas. The design continues the bold color theme with striking, bright red mosaic tiles.

Inside the shower stall, they provide Bliss 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner and body wash.

Overall, the room design is bright and exceptionally comfortable. Coupled with the gorgeous views outside (if you book a room with a view!), it truly provides a wonderfully relaxing and laid-back space. We highly recommend coming to experience a stay here!

♨️ Buffet Breakfast

Breakfast at Aloft Beitou is served on the 3rd floor at the Nook restaurant, and it's a delicious buffet-style spread.

The Nook restaurant features earthy-toned floors and walls, beautifully accented by bright fuchsia chairs and a matching fuchsia statement wall. It creates a modern, stylish, and incredibly bright dining space to start your day.

The breakfast selection is quite diverse! For hot foods, they have pasta, fried items, fried rice, and more.

Of course, Western staples like bacon and hash browns are also on the menu.

They also serve traditional Taiwanese rice porridge (congee) with side dishes—something you rarely see in hotels abroad! For Cherry, who absolutely loves having congee for breakfast, any hotel that offers porridge and little sides instantly scores an 80 out of 100 on her "highly subjective rating scale"! 😆 😆 😆

The cold food section includes salads, cheeses, and cold cuts.

For made-to-order items, they have the essential hotel egg station. On the Taiwanese side, you can get braised pork rice (lu rou fan), danzai noodles, and rice noodles. Oh my goodness, having a hotel breakfast in Taiwan is such a blessing! (It totally blows the standard Western breakfasts at Aloft hotels in North America out of the water—usually, the only hot made-to-order item there is eggs!) Overall, the breakfast is standard—it's decent and tasty, though neither the variety nor the flavors left a super deep impression on us (maybe we just weren't fully awake yet 😆). Aside from the buffet, the Starbucks on the 1st floor of the hotel is another great option for your morning coffee and bite!

Aloft Beitou has an absolutely stunning gym! Located up on the 19th floor, the fitness center features massive floor-to-ceiling windows facing the Guandu Plain. From this high up, the sweeping plains look even more magnificent.

Working out while taking in such a refreshing and breathtaking view is just pure bliss!

On top of that, the gym boasts high ceilings and ultra-stylish decor. When it comes to urban hotel gyms, considering both the interior design and the panoramic view, this is undoubtedly one of Cherry's all-time favorite hotel fitness centers!

Right next to the gym is a self-service laundry room, which is actually quite rare to find inside a hotel! For long-term travelers or guests staying for a few days, this is incredibly convenient~
