Bali is actually much bigger than most people imagine, and accommodations are spread across several distinct areas. The map above roughly highlights Bali's most popular attractions and the general locations of six different regions.

★ [Nusa Dua](#Nusa Dua)

★ [Kuta](#★ Kuta)

★ [Seminyak](★ Seminyak)

In this post, we’ll briefly introduce the unique vibe of each area so you can choose the perfect spot based on what you're looking for. We hope this ultimate guide to Bali's accommodation areas helps you plan the trip of your dreams!

★ Uluwatu

Located on the southwestern peninsula of Bali, Uluwatu is famous for its dramatic cliffside coastlines and epic sunset viewpoints. The most iconic spot here is undoubtedly the Uluwatu Temple. Fun fact: In Indonesian, 'Ulu' means 'land's end' and 'watu' means 'rock'—a name that perfectly describes its rugged, cliff-heavy landscape! Beyond sunsets, you'll find pristine, uncrowded shores like Pandawa Beach, and the Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) Cultural Park, home to Bali’s tallest statue (a must-do for your IG feed!). Because Uluwatu is a bit of a drive from other parts of Bali, we highly recommend staying in this area for a few days so you can easily explore everything it has to offer without spending hours in traffic.
