We recently flew Qatar Airways from Canada to the Maldives, and on our way back, we took advantage of a layover to spend three nights in Qatar's capital city, Doha. Qatar is the second desert country we’ve stepped foot in, right after visiting Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the UAE. While Dubai is famous for having a seemingly endless list of "world's firsts" and "world's biggest," Doha takes a much more low-key approach, despite having its own share of ultra-modern architecture. Compared to Dubai, Qatar sees far fewer tourists, meaning the tours and attraction tickets here offer fantastic value for money!
